Why organic?
In easy terms:
Organic means no hormones, no pesticides, no antiobiotics, no genetically modified organisms (GMOs), no additives, no preservatives. In otherwords, eating food the way God intended your food to be; nature made, not man-made. Why is it good? You will help your body heal from the many ailments and illness that are present in this world, and keep your body healthy, strong, and full of energy.
Most of Europe goes to local farmers and farmer markets to get their produce.... everyday! Not just once or twice a week. They also spend the majority of their money on food, not on material things. While we are proud to be American, we are not proud that we have adobted a title of being obese and unhealthy.
By spending a little extra money on your food for healthier options that keep your body healthy and healing itself, you will spend less money in the future on pills, diet pills and medical expenses, which can save you money. We think that sounds like a great option. 10 Reasons to Go Organic
The facts:
Veggies and Fruit:
Most veggies at the supermarket are COVERED in natural and artificial pesticides and chemicals from fertilizers. Many are even genetically engineered, and there are no labels to identify them as such.
For all the vegans and vegetarians out there: 70% of all soybeans produced in the United States have been genetically modified: and they use animal DNA to genetically modify them. Fruits and veggies are genetically modified to make them more vibrant, large and perfect looking! They also genetically modify them with pest-resistance so they can yeild a larger crop with less loss of their crop to pests. This may seem like a good thing, but all those chemicals and genetic manipulation can lead to detrimental long term effects for humans and animals: birth-defects, mental retardation, cell and organ disfunction and overgrowth (cancer), etc.
Want to know how to avoid the mess of genetic engineering and chemical intoxication? Buy USDA certified organic.

Dairy products should be eaten organic as much as possible to avoid preservatives, chemicals from pesticides and fertilizers, artificial hormones, antibiotics, genetic modification and diseases that are present in most dairy products.
Cheese is hard to come by organic, but it is out there and it is appearing more and more. Unfortunately, it does come at a higher price. Luckily, milk is easier to find. Costco sells bulk organic milk for almost the same price as regular milk. It also lasts longer than regular milk (check the expiration date and see for yourself). Organic milk can be found in almost any grocery store.
Raw organic milk means that the milk is not pasteurized (not treated with heat to kill pathogens). It comes straight from the cow and contains tons of good bacteria for your body! Yum. However, when it is pasteurized, all the good-for-you stuff goes away. One problem is that raw milk has a very short expiration date because it is so fresh, in addition to the fact that it is also very difficult to find in stores. The government has been fighting against the dairy farms who provide raw milk for consumers for a long time.

Meat:
If you have a hard time eating organic because of the difference in price. We recommend at least getting your meat organic. Yes, its expensive but if you knew how the animals were treated and what was put into them, youd understand that eating non-organic meat is disqusting, horrible, and just wrong. So, in conclusion, the best option is to eat meat that comes from free range, organic, vegetarian fed animals.
Check out these websites to see how non-organic animals are treated - warning: not for those who have sensitive stomachs:

Want to help out and get more organic good available for a cheaper price?
As organic food supporters, our goal is get more organic food available all over for a more affordable price so more consumers are willing to make the healthy alternative.
To do so, we need everyone's help!
Many of you have families and probably shop at costco for cheap options. Costco is already starting to sell some organic produce and food (see our shopping list section), but they still need to get more and will only do so when they know their customers will buy it. We are asking anyone who is driven to email Costco with a short letter saying they need more organic options (fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, you name it) and let them know that they need to help make their consumers more aware of this healthy option! I know that the more people email them, the more willing they will be to bring in organic produce and food. Think about it: how awesome would it be to go to a wholesale food store to buy all of your organic needs for great prices! We cant wait to see the day :)
