Organic Shopping

When you're going grocery shopping the most important thing is being able to make one, at most two stops to get all of your grocery needs for the week. Here we will post the best places that and the items they carry for everything you'll need to make wide variety of meals. Of course, you also want to buy organic at the cheapest possible prices, and we can help you out with that.

If you're on a very strict budget and find many organic items too expensive, this website tells you what you should definitely buy organic, and the rest of your items are fine to get non-organic:

These are the majority of products we purchase when we go shopping, it varies every week on what we get, but this is where we find them:
(Always look for the word organic and a USDA approved label)

Costco:

Silk Vanilla Soy Milk
Regular Milk
Kirkland Cheedar Cheese
Norco Eggs
ORGANIC chicken (whole)
ORGANIC chicken breasts
ORGANIC ground beef

ORGANIC whole turkey (thanksgiving time only)
Carrots (whole carrots .... not baby carrots)
Strawberries (March/April) this time of year only, get them now!)
Blueberries (seasonal- January/February)

Natures Path Flax plus, fine milled flaxseed
Kirkland no-salt seasoning - great on so many things

Bybee Frozen mixed vegetables  (corn, green beans, carrots, edamame, green peas)
Alpine Valley whole wheat bread - Omega 3 is our favorite, our dad likes the honey wheat (you can freeze the bread if its too much for one week, we usually freeze 2-3 loafs at a time, transfer to the fridge the day before you will use it)
WILD fish *
 (we get our fish from costco, 1. because you can get fresh or frozen, and 2. because its a great price. When picking fish, make sure you look for the word WILD, not farmed. You wont find fish organic because its hard to regulate and control. When a fish is farmed, its more likely to be genetically modified and have diseases. They also often use chemicals and hormones to make them grow faster.)
Pineapples (these arent organic, but .... (look up))
Mangos - least susceptible to containing a lot of pesticides
Pineapple - also least susceptible to pests (ergo-less pesticides used)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Chicken Broth
Fage Greek Yogurt - not organic, but ..... they dont treat their cows with RGBH (an artificial hormone)
Unsalted Butter
Quinoa
Agave Nectar
Honey
Harvest Melody Wild Rice
Kashi Autumn Harvest Shredded Wheat Cereal (only at san diego- la jolla location, I like these better than mini-wheats, not to mention, organic!)
Peruvian Organic whole coffee beans (San Diego - la jolla costco, email them to get at other places! So goood)
